William McKinley Small Archive (5) of Letters, Card, Ticket, Check

A small group of items signed by or related to President William McKinley. The archive includes a typed letter signed "William McKinley", a typed letter signed by McKinley's secretary "John Addison Porter", an invitation card to the White House, a Senate admission ticket, and a blank check with a signed statement on McKinley's assassination. The group dates from 1897 to 1909. With varying degrees of toning, soiling, wear and folds, etc. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information.

Includes the following:
1. Typed Letter Signed "William McKinley". Washington, D.C., dated November 14, 1900. Addressed to Hon. C. W. Fairbanks, an Indiana state Senator, thanking him for his message of congratulations.
2. Typed Letter Signed "John Addison Porter". Washington, D.C., dated May 21, 1897. Addressed to Magnus L. Robinson, Chairman, sending regrets on behalf of President McKinley for an invitation to the 34th Anniversary celebration of Emancipation at Alexandria.
3. Executive Mansion Invitation Card. Washington, D.C., dated January 9, 1901. Inviting Miss Hurst to a reception held at the White House.
4. Senate Chamber Admission Ticket. Washington, D.C., dated January 19, 1909. Admitting Charles B. Seabury to the reserved gallery for the 2nd Session, 60th Congress. Signed by Vice President "Charles W. Fairbanks".
5. Blank Central Bank Check. London, Ohio, dated 1890s. On verso, "Chairman Dick" has written a statement following the assassination of President McKinley, but prior to his death. Reading: "Pres. Mc may not survive, but the principles for which he stood will live and triumph if we, in the discharge of our duty as citizens, meet every requirement with the same patriotism and devotion to principles that have characterized the life of Wm Mc."

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
