Cody William 1846 - 1917 William F. Cody "Buffalo Bill" signs a wonderful example of his book

First Edition, First Printing of "The Last Of The Great Scouts, The Life Story of Col. W.F. Cody, Buffalo Bill", as told by his sister Helen Cody Wetmore. London: The Partington Advertising Company 1903. New Edition. "Expressly printed to commemorate Colonel Cody's and the Rough Riders of the World's visit to Europe 1903-04, and is only to be obtained from the representatives of Colonel Cody." This copy signed by Buffalo Bill with a wonderful inscription "With the compliments / of the subject / W.F. Cody / "Buffalo Bill" / To William Harry August 18th 1904."with a small ink smear. Original red decorated boards, gold stamped titles, fading to the spine cloth. Slight edgewear to the boards along the corner tips. The binding is tight and square. Tipped in newspaper clipping dated 1917 about his death. Heavy foxing to the outer page block, with additional scattered foxing to the preface of the book, 5.25" x 7.25".

One of the most colorful figures of the American Old West, Buffalo Bill became famous for the shows he organized with cowboy themes, which he toured in Great Britain and Europe as well as the United States. A fantastic example of this title with a rare lengthy inscription by Buffalo Bill!

We currently ship via FedEx but if your purchase is shipping to a P.O. Box, we ship via USPS. All items are insured. We ship from our offices in Westport, CT. We may opt to use a third party shipper for very fragile, bulky or oversized items. Items requiring third party shipping will be denoted in the item description. Packages shipped internationally will have full value declared on shipping form. International buyers will be responsible for any customs fees incurred.
