Ronald Reagan's Personal White House China - Spectacular Fitz & Floyd Saucer!
Relic
A gorgeous Ronald Reagan White House China saucer by the acclaimed firm Fitz & Floyd, personally owned and used by the President, his family and guests during his tenure in the White House! This elegant saucer measures 7" in diameter and features a soft white glazed porcelain background with a cobalt blue, red, and gold rimmed border. Beautifully hallmarked in gilt script on the underside: "White House Service by Robert C. Floyd, Fritz and Floyd, Inc. Fine China, 1983." Accompanied by a photocopy of a 1983 letter from President Reagan thanking the manufacturer for making the dinnerware "to be used in the White House, at Camp David and aboard Air Force One." Ex: Stan Whitlock. Fine condition.

In 1983, the Reagans determined that a need for handsome every-day tableware to be used on Air Force One, at Camp David and at the White House, and chose Fitz & Floyd as the manufacturer. This would be the now-classic set used by the President for his one-on-one weekly luncheons with Vice-President George H. W. Bush, as well as for luncheons and dinners with other world leaders. Our photo (for reference only), shows Reagan, Vice President George Bush, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and other dignitaries dining at Camp David dining together on pieces of this lovely tableware.

According to Stan Whitlock's LinkedIn page, he is the principal the Media Strategies Group, which provides crisis media consulting, public relations direction, and speech writing. Whitlock states: "As speech writer, I'm proud to have worked 'across the aisle' for some key Republican and Democratic leaders alike on the state and national levels….President Reagan once told me, approvingly, that I would have made a 'good Hollywood script writer'…". Whitlock has considerable journalistic experience. He has edited several newspapers, directed a TV news affiliate, and "designed and deployed successful campaigns for a host of political and business clients, from national Presidential, Gubernatorial and Congressional campaigns to Fortune 500 CEOs as well as the occasional entertainment and sports celebrity."
