On February 28, 2007, President Bush met at the White House with Military Service Organizations. At the time, Republican Congressman Bill Young of Florida was Chairman of the Defense Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee.

Note: The painting hanging on the wall, "Jimson Weed/White Flower" (1932) by Georgia O'Keeffe, was owned by the artist's younger sister, Anita O'Keeffe Young, and hung in the President's private dining room for six years. When it sold at Sotheby's in 2014 for $44.4 million, it set a world record for a work of art by a woman.
