Rare Autograph Letter Signed "Diana," 2p, 4.75" x 7.5", front & verso. On the Prince and Princess of Wales monogrammed "CD" stationery, Kensington Palace, July 3, 1989. With original registered mail envelope addressed by Princess Diana to "B. Oldfield Esq. / 27, Beauchamp Place, / London S.W. 3 1NJ." Royal "EIIR" circular stamping. Fine condition.

In full, "Dear Bruce & Anita, A great deal of excitement is always caused when a blue & white parcel arrives here & the one that came today was no exception!! On opening the present I found the most beautiful silk shirt & there were screams of delight from the birthday girl! You both are incredibly kind & thoughtful to have given me such a special shirt – Far too smart to wear for the school run I think! A million thanks to you both & Lots of love from, Diana."

British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield began making couture clothes for Diana in 1981. Anita Richardson was his business partner. Princess Diana celebrated her 28th birthday on July 1, 1989. The "school run" is a British term for the time parents drive their children to or from school.
