A contract between Ayn Rand and Metropolitan Broadcasting – a Division of Metromedia, New York City. In part, "1) I hereby agree to your pre-recording my appearance and/or participation in your television program entitled: Title: UNDER DISCUSSION Subject: ïThe Modern ManÍ (Air Date): September 27, 1964 (Tape Date): September 23, 1964.

"2) I hereby agree that you are the sole owner of all rights in and to said program, and the recordings thereof, for all purposes absolutely, including the right to telecast the programs or recordings" - here Ayn Rand has added "in / full," drawn a circle around it, and initialed "AR – "one or more times over any of your owned or affiliated stations or any stations licensed by you one or more times on a commercial and/or sustaining basisƒ"

On Sunday evening, September 27, 1964, at 9:30 PM, on WNEW Channel 5, MetromediaÍs New York City affiliate, the 90 minute program titled "Under Discussion: ïModern ManÍ" was televised. The guests were "Erich Fromm, psychiatrist; Ashley Montagu, anthropologist; August Heckscher, Ayn Rand and Paul Goodman, authors."
