President Benjamin Harrison Signed Check, to First Lady, Caroline (Carrie) L. Harrison. PSA/DNA slabbed and graded Gem Mint 10!

Signed and dated check, drawn from the Columbia National Bank of Washington, DC. President Harrison made the check out to his wife and first lady, "Carrie (Caroline) L. Harrison", dated "July 2, 1889", and boldly signed the check as "Benj Harrison".  Endorsed on the verso with the signature of the First Lady as "Carrie L Harrison". The pale blue check is  7.25" x 3" , and was made out for "One Hundred + Fifty", "$150.00", entirely in the hand of the President. The check is PSA/DNA slabbed Gem Mt. 10.

A neatly penned check with a bold, clean signature by Benjamin Harrison to his wife, and endorsed by the First Lady on the verso. Made out for the amount of $150, which in today's currency valuation represents about $3880. Drafted in the first year of his Presidency. Harrion, a family man was stiff and formal with acquaintances, but opened up with his family. During his one term as President, he spent as little time as possible in the office, usually working only until noon. He loved to play with his grandchildren, many of whom had moved into the White House with their parents—Russell Benjamin Harrison, age thirty-six in 1890, and Mary Scott McKee, age thirty-two. The children were allowed to keep as many pets on the grounds as they wanted, including a goat whom they named Old Whiskers. One memorable story told of Harrison chasing the goat down Pennsylvania Avenue with his three grandchildren in tow and top hat in hand while waving his cane. Harrison also tried to escape Washington as often as possible, frequently going on hunting trips in secret. One trip made the national press when he shot a farmer's pig by mistake. When Harrison lost the election to Cleveland in 1892, he told his family that he felt like he had been freed from prison.

A highly unique example in stunning condition. Slabbed and graded by PSA/DNA as GEM MT 10.
