It has been in my personal collection since then."

The Apollo XIV mission was conducted between January 31-February 9, 1971. The eighth crewed Apollo program mission, it was the third to land on the moon, on February 5, 1971. Alan B. Shepard, Jr. (1923-1998) served as Commander of the 3-person crew, with Stuart Roosa (1933-1994) as Command Module Pilot and Edgar Mitchell (1930-2016) as Lunar Module Pilot.

Charles "Pete" Conrad completed four space missions: Gemini V (August 1965); Gemini XI (September 1966); Apollo XII (November 1969); and Skylab 2 (May - June 1973). The third person to walk on the Moon after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, Conrad was the first Ivy League graduate (he had received his BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Princeton University in 1953). Conrad took on roles of increasing difficulty as he gained space experience, from Pilot to Command Pilot and finally to Commander.
