John Martin (ca. 1730-1786) was a Rhode Island native who moved to Georgia in 1767. In 1775 Martin represented Savannah at the Georgia Provincial Congress and was appointed a member of the Council of Safety. He was then made first lieutenant in the Seventh Company and later was promoted to captain. Near the end of the war, Martin, also called "the Black Jack from the Northward," was elected governor of Georgia on January 2, 1782.

Jonathan Bryan (1708-1788) was an American patriot originally from South Carolina but who moved Savannah, Georgia, where he assisted James Edward Oglethorpe in the foundation of Georgia's first colony. He also held several political offices in Georgia, and was a large landowner.

John Stirk was a revolutionary Georgia politician who sat on the Georgia Provincial Congress of 1775.

Quintin Pooler was a Savannah merchant and slaveowner. It appears that one year prior, Pooler had gotten into trouble with the law after seizing a number of slaves from the late William McDaniel. Pooler claimed that the slaves were rightfully his by a deed conveyed to him by McDaniel, but the Courts found against him and Pooler was ordered to return the slaves. Pooler refused to comply with the order, to which the court held him in contempt and ordered he be taken into custody. It is unknown how the issue was ultimately resolved or if it may have led to his death the following year.
