June 4, 2025 Sneak Peek: Gigantic Collection of Master Heirloom Prints, An Almost $20 Million Retail Value!

University Archives is offering a vast and extraordinarily fine collection of master heirloom prints at its June 4, 2025 sale.

Step into a rarefied world of artistic excellence with this exceptional private collection of lithographs and etchings, now offered for sale for the first time!

Assembled in the 1970s by a passionate and discerning New York art collector, this curated trove features limited-edition works by some of the most celebrated artists of the 19th and 20th centuries including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Georges Braque, Joan Miró, Albert Giacometti, Henry Moore, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and others. The collection is comprised of approximately 48,200 prints depicting abstract, figural, historical, and mythological subjects. Each piece is an original print. Many were created under the direct supervision of the artists, and pulled from original plates located in ateliers in Paris, Madrid, and New York in the 1960s and 1970s. Many are signed in the plate by the artist and numbered; some prints are pencil-signed by the artist. Each piece was hand-selected for its beauty, provenance, and historical significance.

This impeccably preserved single-owner collection stands as a testament to the enduring power of the printed image. It presents a unique opportunity for serious private collectors to perhaps start their own business, or for galleries to expand their inventory. Collectors may obtain this historically rich and visually captivating collection for just a fraction of its total estimated retail value of $19,737,000!

We suggest that you pre-qualify as a bidder if you intend to compete for this marvelous collection.
