A tremendous piece of Lincolniana! Wood from the Lincoln Farm, Birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, with excellent provenance

Here he immediately picked up a corn cob pipe and stuck it in his mouth and selected five plaques made from timber cut on the old Lincoln farm..." On February 7, 1937, a pre-Lincoln's Birthday article in "The New York Times" titled "Lincoln Pilgrimages" points out that in Hodgenville, the "banquet of the Ladies Lincoln League is the climax to the birthplace's celebration ... Hodgenville has the Lincoln Memorial Library, recently completed by WPA funds obtained through the activities of the Ladies League..."
