Description:

Sendak Maurice 1928 - 2012 Wonderful Maurice Sendak signed letter with a drawing of Moishe, A Wild Thing!

Signed and inscribed with a drawing. Maurice Sendak signs a lovely letter in response to a request, and includes a drawing of Moishe, A Wild Thing. Front of letter was first typed and sent to Maurice, from Sonia Landes, dated "30 March 1978", on light blue paper stock, 6.25'"x 8". Maurice then responded with a handwritten note on the verso of the letter.

Sendak's response in full:

"To be picked up by Mrs. Sonia Landes/From M. Sendak

Dear Sonia,

Will call you (or you me) when I'm home in Conn (Monday). Have a few questions -

Lovely to see you! Maurice"

A lovely, warm personal response by Maurice Sendak to assist Sonia Landes, an elementary school teacher who reached out to Sendak for materials related to education in the arts. Boldly signed twice, once as "M. Sendak", and once as "Maurice".
