Willie Mays' Personally Owned & Signed Mets Watch! A Ton of Use! Ex. Mays Estate
Relic

Original c.1970s New York Mets wristwatch from the personal collection of Hall of Famer, Willie Mays. This vintage stainless steel timepiece features a New York Mets logo at center and a reverse-painted baseball motif on the glass frontpiece. It retains its original blue leather band and exhibits moderate to heavy use consistent with wear by Mays himself. The backplate is signed by Willie Mays in blue Sharpie, a signature which has naturally faded over time and currently rates a 4/5 in strength. The case back reads "Stainless Steel Back – Base Metal Bezel," with serial number "1318" visible. Accompanied by a full Auction House Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA), confirming the authenticity of Mays' signature. It also includes a Certificate of Provenance from Hunt Auctions, verifying that the item originates directly from the personal collection of Willie Mays. Please note the signature on the Hunt certificate is printed, as it was issued after the death of Mays. The watch exhibits significant use by Mays and measures 9" in length.

Ex. Willie Mays Estate

Willie Mays, one of the most iconic figures in baseball history, closed out his legendary playing career with the New York Mets in the early 1970s. After two decades of excellence with the New York and San Francisco Giants, Mays returned to New York in 1972, giving fans a final glimpse of "The Say Hey Kid" before his retirement following the 1973 season. His presence helped lead the Mets to the National League pennant that year. This watch dates to that period and serves as a personal and wearable relic tied to Mays' final seasons as a player and his connection to the Mets organization.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
