Photograph Signed "James Whitey Bulger / 1428AZ" on verso with lengthy Autograph Note on verso. Black & white, 6" x 4". Dual Alcatraz mug shots of Alvin Karpis, called "Ray" by his gang members; the FBI's only Public Enemy #1 ever taken alive. Karpis served at Alcatraz from 1936-1962. Bulger served at Alcatraz from 1959-1962; his Alcatraz prison number was 1428. Fine condition.

Nice guy and respected by all the cons on the Rock - he was quiet, very thin & spent time in the yard walking with friend & fellow Canadian Bank Robber John Machibroda - nice guy - Years later we met again in N.Y. City a friend of mine Tommy Durney was hiding John out D killed by N.Y. Mafia. Good Man. Tom better than man who killed him."
