Description:

Disney Walt 1901 - 1966 Walt Disney boldly signs a letter about the Snow White Coronation Ball, with his distinctive flourish

Single page TLS on Walt Disney's letterhead, 7" x 10.25". Signed "Walt Disney", and dated "February 5, 1952". Page lightly toned to outer edge, with a few small stains. Pencil marks located to front. Expected folds. Stapled to the personal postmarked envelope which includes Disney's typed address of "Walt Disney/2400 South Alameda Ave/Burbank, California", 7.5" x 4", with age toning along the left outer edge.

A wonderful letter with great content, boldly signed by Walt Disney with his large distinctive flourish. He was writing to Governor Payne of Maine, addressing the "the beautiful scroll" he received, inviting him "to attend the Snow White Coronation Ball at the Somerset Hotel in Boston". Snow White was enjoying a huge resurgence as it was being re-released in February at the time of this letter. But perhaps of most interest was his revealing response, as he addressed both the strong production schedule during this high growth period for Disney Studios, and most certainly alluded to what was to culminate in the March 27th announcement of a $1.5 million development called Disneyland. "... this affair could not come at a worse time for me. We are in the middle of getting under way our heaviest production schedule in years, and I have so many important decisions to make in the next few weeks that to leave here for only a few days would present a serious problem"

A fantastic letter for a Disney aficionado. Would be stunning framed!
