W. Wilson & H. Truman TLS' Giving Thanks to "pillars of support when I needed it!"
TLS
Two TLS, the first signed by Woodrow Wilson, and dated December 22, 1922, is written on his personal stationery from his post-presidency residence at 2340 S Street NW, Washington, D.C. By 1922, Woodrow Wilson (28th President of the United States, 1913–1921) was in his final years, having suffered a debilitating stroke in 1919. Despite his health struggles, he remained engaged in correspondence and public affairs. This letter, written just a little over a year before his death in 1924, reflects his appreciation for kindness and his enduring connection with friends and supporters.

The second TLS, signed by by Harry S. Truman, dated January 8, 1958, is written on his personal stationery from Independence, Missouri, where he resided after leaving the White House. Addressed to Honorable and Mrs. Cyrus S. Ching, Truman warmly thanks the couple for their Christmas greeting and reflects on their past support. Expected folds, boldly signed. The letter measures 7.25" x 10.5."

By 1958, Harry S. Truman (33rd President of the United States, 1945–1953) had retired to Independence, Missouri, where he remained actively engaged in correspondence, writing his memoirs, and supporting the construction of the Truman Library.
His recipient, Cyrus S. Ching, was a prominent labor leader who played a key role in industrial relations during Truman's presidency, particularly in settling labor disputes. Truman's words, "You were one of the pillars of support when I needed it," suggest a deep appreciation for Ching's contributions during his administration.
