Morgan J. 1837 - 1913 $1000 1886 First Mortgage Bond for the New Jersey Junction Railroad
Six sheets, 13.5" x 9.5" Five of the sheets contain the individual coupon stamps, with the top sheet consisting of the actual bond
An engraved and highly ornate $1000 mortgage bond, No 2529, issued by the New Jersey railroad Company and guaranteed by the New York Central Hudson River Railroad Company. With vignette of boats on the Hudson river. Signed "J. Pierpont Morgan" and "C Fahnstock", on the ornately engraved reverse. Embossed seal dated 1886 stating New Jersey Railroad Junction. Attached are 199 of the 200 individual dated "coupon stamps" for $20 each, allowing the bearer to be paid $20 twice a year, once in February and once in August over a period of 100 years (the last coupon stamp is dated February, 1986)
