Declaration Signer Thomas McKean, Vibrant 1806 Land Warrant for 1100 Acres in Pennsylvania

 

Lovely fine condition land warrant on vellum, 20.5" x 11.5". Dated "July 16, 1806", and signed by the Governor of the "commonwealth", Thomas M. Kean "Tho M. Kean" upper left. The vellum is bright and clean with lovely detailed engravings along the top noting "The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania". Original 8 point State seal set to the upper left corner in fine condition.  Lovely dark contrasting ink. Overall fine.

 

This collectible land warrant is for "a certain tract of land, called "Caflefin" situate in the late Purchase, now Venango County Beginning at a White pine then by his other land East five hundred and eighty three perches to a post, North three hundred and twenty perches to a Post, West five hundred and eighty three perches to a (illegible) and South three hundred and twenty perches to the Beginning ~

Containing Eleven hundred acres and allowance of six pr. Cent for roads … "
