Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919), the 26th President of the United States, was one of the most dynamic and influential leaders of the Progressive Era. Serving from 1901 to 1909, Roosevelt championed trust-busting, conservation, and a more assertive American presence on the global stage. By 1907, Roosevelt was in the latter part of his presidency, actively pursuing progressive reforms and expanding the federal government's role in regulating industry and protecting natural resources. Photographs from this period often depict him as both a statesman and a vigorous public figure, reinforcing his image as a "man of action."

Underwood & Underwood was one of the leading news photography agencies of the early 20th century, widely distributing images of major political figures and events. Type I photographs from this era are particularly prized for their direct connection to the original moment of capture, offering collectors an authentic visual record of Roosevelt during his presidency.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
