Albert Von Tilzer (1878-1956) was born in Indianapolis to a musical family. He penned dozens of chart-topping hits throughout the early 20th century. His catchy melodies, often paired with the clever lyrics of his brother, Harry Von Tilzer, made him a household name during the ragtime and vaudeville eras. Other timeless songs from his pen include "Put Your Arms Around Me, Honey", "I'll Be With You in Apple Blossom Time", and "My Old New Hampshire Home." The years from 1905 to 1908 resulted in a number of popular hits for Albert and especially so when he teamed up with Jack Norworth for a number of great songs. Supposedly, neither had ever attended a baseball game, yet they managed to create and publish a song that would forever be linked to the game, "Take Me Out To The Ball Game."
