Description:

Anthony Susan 1820 - 1906 Susan B. Anthony: "Men, their rights, and nothing more; women their rights, and nothing less" signed card bearing famous quote

Cream paper fragment signed "Susan B. Anthony"and inscribed "Rochester, N.Y." below the motto of The Revolution, the nineteenth-century women's weekly co-published with fellow activist Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902): "Men, their rights, and nothing more; women their rights, and nothing less". Quote probably printed after signed, yet still exceptional. In very fine condition, card sized fragment measuring 4.375" x 2.625".

Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906) was a pioneer crusader for the woman's suffrage movement, and driving force behind the 19th amendment. Many of Anthony's campaigns from long ago still resonate with today's women. This thought provoking signed quote would be very handsome if framed and displayed. Anthony died in Rochester, New York at age 86 in 1906.

See below for famous Susan B. Anthony quotes:

"I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand."

"There never will be complete equality until women themselves help to make laws and elect lawmakers."

"I do not demand equal pay for any women save those who do equal work in value. Scorn to be coddled by your employers; make them understand that you are in their service as workers, not as women."

"Trust me that as I ignore all law to help the slave, so will I ignore it all to protect an enslaved woman."

"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires."
