Description:

Southern Antebellum & Civil War-Issued Currency, 15 Pcs

A small collection of 15 bills of currency, 14 of the 15 notes issued before the Civil War. The money was issued by financial institutions in the states of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Issue dates range from August 1, 1842 to October 1, 1861 (the one wartime exception), and the bills are in denominations ranging from 1 dollar to 10 dollars. Expected wear includes wrinkles, fading, discoloration, chipped edges, and isolated loss and closed tears. Please refer to catalog photos for additional information about condition, which is otherwise good to very good. The average size of the bills is 6.75" x 3.25."
