Bush George H. W. 1924 - 0 George Bush White House card, signed with touching message, and with impeccable provenance

This pristine cream White House card, with gold embossed President's seal in the upper left corner, is signed "George Bush" in blue pen at lower right. The presidential condolence note dated November 30, 1990 is addressed to "Ron" and is in response to the recent death of the recipient's father. The companion cream envelope inscribed "The White House" has gold embossed President's seal on the envelope flap verso and is typewritten with recipient's name. Both the card and envelope measure approximately 6.375" x 4.25". From the spectacular, unprecedented collection of Ronald Ellis Wade, card recipient. In this letter written eleven months after his inauguration, Bush writes: "Barbara and I are so sorry about your father. It hurts to lose someone you love a lot".

George Herbert Walker Bush (1924-) served as our 41st President from 1989 to 1993. He served as a Navy pilot in World War II, completing 58 combat missions and receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in action. With the G.I. Bill, Bush attended Yale University in New Haven, CT where he excelled athletically and academically. He married Barbara Pierce (1925-) in 1945 and later had six children, one of whom, George Walker Bush (1945-) served as our 43rd President from 2001-2009. The elder Bush embarked on a career in the oil industry, a decision that led him to Texas where he experimented with state politics. He served in a variety of government positions during the 1970s including as Ambassador to the United Nations, Director of the Intelligence Agency, and envoy to China. He was selected by Republican candidate Ronald Reagan as his running mate in 1980. Bush returned to the White House after winning the general election in 1988.

Below is an interesting interview from TheHill.com, about Ron Wade and his collection of Presidential memorabilia:

"Step into Ronald Wade's office and it's easy to see why he's listed in 'Guinness World Records 2015' for the largest collection of U.S. presidential memorabilia _„î it's really a replica of the Oval Office.

'Actually, they quit counting', Wade says of his immense collection of White House and presidential campaign items, 'because I probably have closer to 20,000 or 30,000 items, if not closer to 100,000 _„î that's with duplication.' The official count from the folks behind the famed book puts Wade's collection in chief at 6,960 pieces as of last year.

The lifelong Republican has been racking up 'practically anything that has to do with American politics' since he was 10 years old.

'My first memory in life is wearing an "I Like Ike" button, and I was probably 4 years old. So I've always been interested in politics', Wade, 64, tells ITK.

The retired Texas Department of Human Services supervisor and ex White House aide to President Nixon says he counts former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush as friends. His most prized item in the collection is from the 41st Commander-in-Chief's failed 1964 Senate bid.

'George W. has been to my house, and seen my collection, and was quite impressed', boasts Wade, who has also donated several pieces from his massive memorabilia stockpile to the George W. Bush Presidential Library outside Dallas."
