Signed Archive of 5 Items from Military Figures of World War I & II- MacArthur, among others!

Group of 5 signed items from figures of World War I & II. Includes:

1.) Douglas MacArthur TLS, measuring 8" x 10.5", September 12, 1952, New York, NY. Letter from MacArthur to Vice President of the Rotary Club of Bridgeport, CT declining invitation. Some creasing throughout and soiling to bottom right edge. Boldy signed. Between 1951-1952, MacArthur (1880-1964) went on a speaking tour around the country, with rumors that he would eventually run for president.

2.) Malin Craig TLS, measuring 8" x 10.5", March 4, 1937, Washington, D.C. Letter from 14th U.S. Army Chief of Staff, Malin Craig declining request for autographed photo. Minor creasing and folds, on official letterhead with watermark. Overall wonderful condition with bold signature. Craig (1875-1945) served as Chief of Staff from 1935-39, and was on active duty during both World Wars.

3.) Signed Cover from Canadian Aircraftmen, measuring 4.75" x 3.75", June 15, 1942, Montreal, Canada. Cover signed by Flight Lt. Gordon Stewart Brown and Air Marshal W.A. Bishop, featuring Canadian 10 cent stamp. Minor bumping to corners, boldly signed by both. A unique piece!

4.) Major General J.H. Pendleton ALS, measuring 6.5" x 10", October 22, 1935, Coronado, CA. Signed letter from retired Marine Joseph Henry Pendleton showing thanks. Minor creasing and toning on verso. Condition is very good. Pendleton (1860-1942) served in the Marine Corps for 40 years and, following his retirement, was mayor of Coronado from 1928-30.

5.) General J. Lawton Collins PS, measuring 8" x 10", n.d., n.p. Signed military portrait of Joseph Lawton Collins. Creasing and small tears present to edges, does not affect the appearance of the image or signature. Pencil notations present on verso. Boldly signed. During World War II, Collins (1896-1987) was stationed in Guadalcanal where he earned the nickname "Lighting Joe". He was also present in the Normandy landings, making him one of the few commanders to serve in both the Pacific and Europe.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
