In part, "As an inducement to you to enter into the above mentioned agreement with my employment thereunder, I acknowledge that: you have advised me that you are acting as my employer thereunder; that I have consented to and hereby approve of your so acting as my employer." "The Case of the Missing Lady," based on a story by Agatha Christie, was televised on the Nash Airflyte Theatre on December 7, 1950. It was Ronald Reagan's television debut. The 39-year-old film actor was cast as Tommy Blunt; 24-year-old Cloris Leachman was his wife, Tuppence Blunt. Tommy and Tuppence Beresford were characters in a few Agatha Christie mysteries. The Blunts, husband and wife detectives, track down the missing fiancŽ of an Arctic explorer.

As host of General Electric Theatre, televised from 1954-1962, Reagan toured the country, speaking from coast to coast. Becoming known nationally as a spokesman for conservatism, he was elected Governor of California in 1966 and 1970, and President of the United States in 1980 and 1984.
