Ronald Reagan: Fitz & Floyd White House China, Spectacular Dessert Coupe

Original Ronald Reagan White House Fitz & Floyd china service octagonal dessert coupe. The bowl measures 5" in diameter, with a height of 2.75", and has a cobalt blue, red, and gold border around the rim, with the United States seal in the center in gold. Bowl is stamped on verso, “White House Service by Robert C. Floyd, Fitz and Floyd, Inc. Fine China, 1983.” Very fine condition, with minimal wear. No chips or cracks. Ex-Stan Whitlock.

In 1983, President Reagan and the First Lady determined that there was a need for a handsome set of White House china. This set was designated as everyday china, the collection used aboard Air Force One, at Camp David and at the White House. This would be the stunning set often used by the President for his one-on-one weekly luncheons with Vice-President George H. W. Bush, and the Fitz & Floyd porcelain was also used for other important dining settings such as for a luncheon with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. This is perhaps the most attractive daily china that the White House has ever had in residence and/or used so extensively. A lovely photo shown for reference only, depicts President Reagan, Vice President George Bush, Margaret Thatcher and other dignitaries dining at Camp David using pieces of this lovely china.
