Description:

Roger Clemens Signed Record-Winning Game-Used Baseball, with Yankees-Steiner Collectibles LOA & COA

An important winning game-used baseball signed by 11x All-Star Major League Baseball pitcher William Roger Clemens (born 1962) as "Roger Clemens / 7/2/07 / 350 Won" on the baseball cover in between stitches. The Rawlings Official Major League Baseball is affixed with three holographic stickers: one confirming Major League Baseball Authentication (serial number BB607899); and two relating to Steiner Collectibles (serial number 08493). Expected weathering and grime consistent with vigorous play, else very good. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles Letter of Authenticity and Certificate of Authenticity matching the above stickers and serial numbers. Stored in a protective acetate case measuring 3.125" square.

Roger Clemens triumphantly signed this baseball following his 350th win, played against the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on July 2, 2007. The game not only garnered Clemens a record 350 wins, but it was also a fine performance in its own right; Clemens gave up just two hits and one run over eight innings.

Clemens had rejoined the New York Yankees less than one month earlier, on June 9th (he had previously pitched for the Yankees between 1999-2003.) Clemens only pitched for a few more months during the 2007 season. Following reinjury of his hamstring in October, Clemens was replaced. Clemens played a remarkable 24 seasons of Major League Baseball.

This very baseball sold for a hammer price of over $800 at Heritage Auctions in July 2020.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
