Robert Frost ALS: "I've written you a new poem in the book"

1p ALS inscribed overall and signed by American poet Robert Frost (1874-1963) as "Robert Frost" at bottom. Undated letter addressed to an unknown recipient, probably an autograph collector. On cream paper laid on thin board. In near fine condition, with expected light paper folds, measuring 5.75" square.

"Dear Mr. Kanti:

I am sending your book back with this letter. I've written you a new poem in the book. Now I'm off for Boulder Colorado to read a few poems aloud. Best wishes,

Sincerely yours

Robert Frost."

Robert Frost was familiar with Boulder, Colorado. His daughter Marjorie (1905-1934) received treatment for tuberculosis at the city's Mesa Vista Sanatorium in the 1920s. Frost stayed at the Hotel Boulderado, a multi-story Italianate style brick edifice located in downtown Boulder.

Frost is known for his sparse and moving poetry, and is universally recognized as a quintessentially American poet. He was nominated thirty-one times for the Pulitzer Prize and won it four times. When he wasn't writing, Frost taught English at Amherst College and Middlebury College.
