Richard Nixon Extraordinarily Rare Fully Signed W.H. Letter to Friend with Long Postscript
TLS

Richard Nixon (1913-1994). A heartfelt typed letter signed "Richard Nixon" as President on White House stationery, Washington, DC, July 14, 1969. Addressed to Meyer Revitz, expressing deep sympathy on the loss of his wife with a lengthy postscript. 1p, 6.75" x 9". Faint dealer notation in pencil in upper left, expected crease, postscript impacted by some water damage - honestly it appears as if it could be tears from the recipient upon reading the letter - else fine and boldly signed.

In full:

"Dear Meyer:

Mrs. Nixon and I were deeply saddened to learn that Mrs. Revitz had died and we join in sending our heartfelt sympathy to you.

We know of your devotion to Mrs. Revitz during her illness, and we pray you will take comfort in the knowledge that she always knew the love and warmth of a family that cared deeply for her.

While words have but little meaning at such a time of sorrow, Mrs. Nixon and I want you and your family to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Richard Nixon"

The postscript in the 37th President's hand reads: "I shall always be grateful for the friendship you + Mrs Revitz have so loyally extended to us through the years - N."
