An unused 50-stamp block of Series U.S. #1381, "Professional Baseball / 1869-1969" with black titles omitted. The full pane comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Professional Stamp Experts (Newport Beach, California), serial number 01163351, dated January 17, 2008, stating in part: "it is a genuine unused, o.g., never hinged, top left full pane of fifty, with black omitted…" The stamp block has been folded horizontally between the fifth and sixth rows, leaving a minor perforation separation near the right edge. A few staple holes and scuffs to the left margin, else near fine. 8.875" x 10.25." The unused 50-stamp block is accompanied by a 50-stamp block of the same stamp series WITH the black titles, printed #31413 at lower left, 9" x 10.25."

Scott catalog value is $500 per stamp, or $25,000 for the whole sheet!

Series U.S. #1381, "Professional Baseball / 1869-1969," in yellow, red, green, and black, was issued on September 24, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to celebrate the centennial of professional baseball. The Cincinnati Red Stockings became America's first professional baseball team in 1869 by paying its team members a salary for 8 months of the year. The same year, in 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings achieved the only perfect season in professional baseball, with an undefeated 57-0 track record. The Cincinnati Red Stockings later moved to Boston and became the Boston Red Sox, to be replaced in their hometown by the Cincinnati Reds.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house world-wide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses that proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
