Olds Ransom 1864 - 1950 Ransom E. Olds signed stock certificate for REO Motor Car Company.

Signed stock certificate, boldly signed "R.E. Olds" included with cancellation marks in the shape of an "R' on his signature as well as the secretary's. Dated "Jan. 10, 1916" following the printed certification. Approximately 12.75" x 8.5" and in great condition despite minor marginal wear. The stock had issued 50 shares.

Ransom Eli Olds was a pioneer in the American automotive business, inventing one of the world's first high-volume gasoline-powered automobile known as the Oldsmobile. Olds went on to form his own automobile company which would be called REO Motors after the Oldsmobile became a top-selling car in the U.S. The company achieved great success in the beginning but went into a steady decline after 1915 when new competitors began to come.
