Queen Lili'uokalani DS to Benjamin Harrison Framed
DS

Lydia Lili'u Loloku Walania Kamaka'eha (1838-1917). Elegantly framed document addressed to United States President Benjamin Harrison signed by the last reigning sovereign of Hawaii, Queen Lili'uokalani. 2p, Honolulu, Hawaii, May 24, 1892. Countersigned by Samual Parker, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Kingdom of Hawaii. This document is beautifully framed in a silver embossed frame measuring 19.75" x 16.5", with the sight of each page of the document measuring 6.5" x 11.75" and with a page bearing the vivid red-orange seal of the Kingdom of Hawaii and its original red ribbon stored in a specialized pocket at the back of the frame. Not inspected outside of frame but condition appears very fine with just a few scattered spots and expected mail folds - beautifully signed.

Queen Lili'uokalani was the only queen sovereign and the final sovereign of the Kingdom of Hawaii before it was overthrown by foreign interests before becoming a protectorate, and later the 50th state, of the United States. The document she signed here requests that the United States authorities apprehend one Illinois Wise, accused of committing murder aboard the "W.H. Diamond" while it was moored in Honolulu Harbor, before fleeing to California.
