Buffalo Mayor Grover Cleveland signs THREE TIMES on three separate sheets approving a street paving contract - can be divided into three separate documents each complete in itself

GROVER CLEVELAND (1837-1908) Partly Printed Document Signed "Grover Cleveland / Mayor," 22 pages, 8.5" x 14", front and verso. Separate sheets. Buffalo, New York, September 4, 1882. Expertly strengthened at folds. Fine condition. With light brown cover sheet, frayed at edges.

Headed "Engineer's Office. / City of Buffalo, July 25, 1882. / To Contractors. / For paving West avenue 30 feet wide with second quality / Medina sandstone and flat gutters from the northerly line / of Jersey street to the southerly lone of Porter avenue…" The next sheet is headed "Proposals" with a printed advertisement for the above proposal affixed, followed by the cost "For the sum of $5029 Five Thousand and twenty nine Dollars" and signed by the proposer, "Charles E. Williams."

The 5th page, headed "Sureties' Agreement," is approved "Grover Cleveland" as Mayor, who dated it "July 29 1882". Eight others have also signed. The 20th and 22nd pages, separate sheets, are each signed "Grover Cleveland / Mayor" on September 4, 1882, each beneath the statement "I hereby approve of the foregoing Bond, its form, manner of execution, and the sureties thereof."
