University Archives is offering a vast and extraordinarily fine collection of master heirloom prints at its June 4, 2025 sale. Collectors may obtain it for just a fraction of the collection's total estimated retail value of $19,737,000. The lot is comprised of approximately 48,200 original prints and lithographs pulled from plates created by the artists themselves, ca. 1960s-1970s. 30 artists are featured in this unique collection, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Georges Braque, Joan Miró, Albert Giacometti, Henry Moore, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The work of other well-known American, British, French, Spanish, Italian, and Mexican printmakers, both male and female, is also included. Please refer to catalog photos for additional information related to condition. The print collection - which also includes vintage original lithographic posters - is housed off-site in a gallery in upstate New York. *Please note: This lot will require third-party shipping.*

Step into a rarefied world of artistic excellence with this exceptional private collection of original lithographs and etchings, a collection now offered for sale for the first time! Assembled in the 1970s by a passionate and discerning New York art collector, this curated trove features limited-edition works by some of the most celebrated artists of the 19th and 20th C. Each work of art was selected for its beauty, provenance, and historical significance. This impeccably preserved single-owner collection stands as a testament to the enduring power of the printed image, offering a unique opportunity for galleries and serious private collectors to acquire a body of work that is at once historically rich and visually captivating.

From the bold lines of Pablo Picasso to the surreal visions of Salvador Dalí, the vibrant forms of Joan Miró, and the fantastical imagery of Marc Chagall, this collection captures the spirit of modern art in all its transformative power. Each piece is an original print, many created under the direct supervision of the artists themselves. Many are signed in the plate by the artist and numbered, and some prints are pencil-signed by the artist. The majority of these prints were pulled from the original plates located in fine ateliers in Paris, Madrid, and New York in the 1960s and 1970s.

Highlights include:

- Pablo Picasso etchings offering an intimate look into his artistic process, including "Bull Fight" and "Pour Roby"

- Marc Chagall lithographs alive with color and dreamlike imagery, such as "Homecoming" and "La Maurice"

- Alexander Calder and Georges Braque prints showcasing a groundbreaking Modernist aesthetic, including Calder's colorful "Autumn" and Braque's striking "Ajax"
