Description:

Pensions and Land Warrants for Rev. War Vets Took Part in the Lexington Alarm on April 19, 1775

A pension for Revolutionary War veteran Charles Knapp, together with an inquiry about a war pension and an application for the Sons of the Revolution - West Virginia Society. The pension document dictates how Knapp, deceased, may receive money that is owed to him and provides instructions for who to contact. The letter of inquiry is from a soldier, John Scott, who was granted a warrant for 200 acres for service in the Revolutionary War. The warrant had at some time been misplaced, and Scott asks if he is still able to get the land. The final document is a later application for the Songs of the Revolution, dated April 19, 1894. All of the documents have flattened folds, with varying degrees of separations at the folds and edge chipping. Some areas of paper loss to the application. Toning, soiling, and ink stains to all.
