Description:

Wodehouse Sir Pelham 1881 - 1975 P.G. Wodehouse ANS responding to his Massachusetts fan club.

Personal postcard with signed and dated note, 5.5" x 3.5", with letterhead of "P.G. Wodehouse, Remsenburg, N.Y". Dated "Feb 22, 1967" and signed by Wodehouse as "P.G. Wodehouse". Accompanied by the autographed stamped and postmarked mailing envelope with Wodehouse's address on the verso flap. The envelope was torn open along the bottom left leaving a neat intact tear. Else both near fine.

A lovely, warm ANS penned by Wodehouse to a fan club in 1967. Best known for his character Jeeves, the supreme "gentleman's gentleman", he wrote more than 90 books, 20 film scripts and musical comedies. His main character Reginald Jeeves surfaces in series of humorous short stories (1881-1975), being the highly competent valet of a wealthy and idle young Londoner named Bertie Wooster. Created in 1915, Jeeves continued to appear in Wodehouse's work until his last completed novel in 1974, a span of 59 years.

His warm ANS is shown below:

"Dear Mr. Steinmetz

Thank you so much for your letter. I am so glad you like my stuff. Good luck to the fan club!

P.G. Wodehouse"

An excellent signed note by this highly prolific author.
