Original Monty Sheldon Artball® of Tommy Bond - Incredible & Unique Sports Art!
Signed art
A superb piece of original sports artwork, a hand-painted Monty Sheldon Artball® celebrating baseball legend Tommy Bond! Sheldon painted this ball in 2011, adding date October 7.

Painted with extreme precision and realism on a regulation ball, this one-of-a-kind piece is perfectly suited to display. Sheldon's work is highly coveted, and his Artballs® are priced from $2,500 to well over $3,000! Each ball takes Sheldon more than 20 hours to paint.

Thomas Henry Bond (1856-1941) was a pitcher and right fielder for 10 seasons and the first Irish-born player in the MLB.

Monty Sheldon is a world-renowned sports artist who pioneered the art of painting on baseballs, now known as Artballs®. He began his career as an illustrator for Dark Horse Comics, famous for its characters such as Hellboy, The Mask, and the Umbrella Academy series, then turned exclusively to creating sports art. He began painting baseballs in 1998. Sheldon's first Artball® featured Rube Waddell, his favorite player. Since then, Sheldon has these strikingly detailed balls in small quantity, and counts Topps, sports commentator Keith Olbermann and actor Tom Cruise among his clients.

Sheldon's Artballs® are hand-painted and feature mind-blowing precision, and every ball takes over 20 hours to paint. Each one-of-a-kind ball offers a head and shoulders portrait of the player, the player's stats and biography, and an image of him on the field -- all executed in bright colors and with great sensitivity. Sheldon perfectly captures the individual characteristics of the player, and shares their information in precise text. Each Artball® is meticulously painted and signed by the artist himself. The level of extreme realism and painterly skill make these Artballs® appealing not only to sports fans, but lovers of unique art in general. Sheldon's Artballs® are coveted and in demand: an Artball® sells for $2,500+ directly through the artist, and galleries have sold them for over $3,000 each!
