OJ Simpson's Bible with Page Eerily Marked at Divine Judgment Verse
Books

OJ Simpsons personally owned pocket bible, sold in his recent estate sale. This compact, leatherette bound edition of the "New Testament, Psalms & Proverbs" is stamped in gold lettering and includes a small gilt emblem at the lower right corner. In fine condition, with light use. Measures 3" x 4.75."

As stated above, the bible showcases evidence of light use, and when we received it, page 448 showcasing a caption from the Second Epistle of Peter, chapter 2, verse 4 was intentionally folded so as it could be referred to again at a later time. The section reads in part: "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;" This passage, centered on the punishment of fallen beings and the certainty of judgment, carries striking resonance given the context of O.J. Simpson's life and public controversies. The folded page suggests a moment of personal reflection—or perhaps spiritual reckoning—during one of the most turbulent periods of his life.

The O.J. Simpson estate initially sold these items to pay off part of the debt owed to the family of Ronald Goldman. Interestingly, and now famously, a bible gifted to OJ by Robert Kardashian sold in his estate sale for $80,276. Kim Kardashian had tried to purchase the bible privately before the sale took place, with an offer of $15,000 which was ultimately declined. The lot will be accompanied by a copy of the Goldin Auctions auction certificate, who initially worked with the Simpson estate.

O.J. Simpson (b. 1947), once a celebrated NFL running back, Heisman Trophy winner, and actor, became globally infamous during the 1994–1995 criminal trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. The O.J. Simpson trial, officially known as The People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson, was one of the most widely watched and controversial criminal trials in American history. Taking place from 1994 to 1995, the case centered on the brutal murders of Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson, a former NFL star and actor, was charged with both murders. The trial captivated the nation with its dramatic courtroom moments, celebrity attorneys—including Johnnie Cochran, Robert Shapiro, and F. Lee Bailey—and its deep cultural and racial undertones. Ultimately, Simpson was acquitted on October 3, 1995, after a verdict that divided public opinion and sparked national debate. The case remains a defining moment in American legal and media history.
