O.J. Simpson's Personally Owned Watches, Ex. Simpson Estate
Relic

A pair of O.J. Simpson's personally owned watches retained directly from the estate of O.J. Simpson, the Hall of Fame running back whose fame evolved into a complex and highly scrutinized public persona. This offering includes both an analog Ferrari-branded wristwatch and a digital Garmin sports watch, each retained from Simpson's personal effects. Both watches are not currently operating. Accompanied by a copy of the original Goldin Auctions Certificate of Authenticity. The Garmin measures 9.5" long and the Ferrari watch with the partial band measures 2.5."

The O.J. Simpson estate initially sold these items to pay off part of the debt owed to the family of Ronald Goldman. Interestingly, and now famously, a bible gifted to Simpson by Robert Kardashian sold in his estate sale for $80,276. Kim Kardashian had tried to purchase the bible privately before the sale took place, with an offer of $15,000 which was ultimately declined.

This lot will be accompanied by a copy of the Goldin Auctions auction certificate, who initially worked with the Simpson estate.

Ferrari Analog Wristwatch:
A sporty, red-dial analog watch featuring the iconic Ferrari shield logo at 12 o'clock, with gold-tone casing and a leatherette strap in black and red racing stripes. The watch exhibits moderate wear consistent with use, but is missing part of the band on either side, offering collectors a stylish piece that reflects Simpson's high-end lifestyle and public persona.

Garmin Digital Watch:
A Garmin Forerunner digital sports watch with a black rubberized strap and rectangular screen, commonly used for running, GPS tracking, and health metrics. This unit shows surface wear on the strap and bezel, again indicative of personal use, and reflects Simpson's continued engagement with sports and fitness later in life.

Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson rose to national fame as a record-breaking running back in the NFL, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1968 and later earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Following his football career, Simpson transitioned into acting and broadcasting, becoming a fixture in American pop culture. However, his legacy became deeply complicated after his 1995 trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, a case that captivated the nation and remains one of the most polarizing legal events in U.S. history. Though acquitted in criminal court, Simpson was later found liable in a civil suit and continued to face legal issues throughout his life. His name endures as a symbol of both athletic excellence and enduring public controversy.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
