Neil Armstrong attended Purdue University from 1947 to 1955 (with a break for military service) as part of the Navy's Holloway Plan. This period was formative in building Armstrong's expertise in engineering, mathematics, and problem-solving—qualities that became hallmarks of his career. Purdue, often referred to as the "Cradle of Astronauts," produced many aerospace pioneers, with Armstrong becoming its most iconic alumnus.

At the time this quiz was completed (1947–1948), Armstrong was in his first year of studies, mastering the fundamentals of engineering and geometry. These foundational skills would later serve him during his career as an aerospace engineer, test pilot, and ultimately as the first human to step onto the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.
