The sheet has been mounted to a larger cream envelope, measuring 9.25" x 12.5" overall. Also stamped at the bottom with a mission stamp: "Neil A. Armstrong Maj. David R. Scott docked with AGENA flight terminated in 7th orbit / 16 March 1966 GTA-8 / Recovery 17 March west Pacific time." At the bottom right is a handwritten address of "E.M. Brown, 802 Elgin Tower, Elgin, Ill." As mentioned, the sheet of stamps has been adhered to a slightly larger envelope - Armstrong's signature is partially on the envelope and Scott's signature is fully on the envelope. With faint toning. Boldly signed by both men, overall very fine.

The crew of Gemini VIII, Command pilot Neil Armstrong and pilot David Scott, were the first to link two spacecraft together in Earth orbit. The mission was for Gemini VIII to rendezvous and perform the docking with the separately launched Agena. March 16, 1966, the two spacecraft launched and Armstrong and Scott successfully performed the link-up, with Armstrong radioing back to the Command Center, "Flight, we are docked. It was a real smoothie." Soon after, however, the Gemini VIII encountered a critical system failure which caused the vessel to tumble end over end. It was Armstrong's quick thinking to turn off the entire OAMS system and use the re-entry control system thrusters which allowed them to regain command of Gemini VIII and stop the spin. Following this, the remaining mission was abandoned, and Scott and Armstrong made an emergency re-entry to Earth. Despite the mission failure, the successful docking was a milestone that would prove vital to the success of future moon landing missions.
