NASA Photography Equipment Grouping: Shuttle Mount Assy, Fresnel Lens, Bumper Ring, Filter & Film Roll
Other

Excellent grouping of NASA photography equipment. Includes:

1) Space Shuttle Mount Assy. The Mount Assy NASA class I flight hardware part #SED33102476-327 s/n 1058 was used throughout the Shuttle, Spacehab and Spacelab as a means to connect Multiuse Arms for holding photography and video camera equipment, and other items such as laptops, in place. The Mount Assy connected to the Multiuse Arm using a quick release tripod adapter. Numerous tripod adapters with the release button segment were mounted throughout the Shuttle, with the removable slide segment attached to the Mount Assy. Several of these were flown on every shuttle mission. Color photo of a similar Mount Assy in use on a shuttle flight is included. NASA parts bag with inventory label is included. Condition is good with signs of honest wear from use.

2) EMU Helmet Fresnel Lens X2 used by Space Shuttle astronauts during EVAs as a crew option. The +14 diopter Fresnel Lens, NASA part #SDD13101499-031, is mounted to the lower front inside of the EMU helmet as an aid to visibility of the Display and Controls Module (DCM) for crew members. They are also used by cosmonauts inside helmets of Russian Orlan EVA spacesuits. Made of polyvinyl chloride by 3M, they adhere with just water. The diameter is 64.5mm round for the off the shelf version. NASA uses a modified lens removing top and bottom segments that reduces the overall height and provides a straight top and bottom rather than the normal fully rounded lens. Labeled as Class IIIW. NASA pink parts bag with inventory and disposal labels are also included, as well as a NASA technical document and photo of this type of lens in use during training. This item was purchased by the consignor as NASA surplus.

3) Camera Bumper Ring. 62mm bumper ring for use on NASA cameras or camcorders. Bumper rings were custom manufactured for NASA spaceflight use. These rings are required to be used on camera and camcorder lenses during photography through spacecraft windows to prevent scratches. The 62mm size was common for use on Nikon lenses.

4) Hasselblad 93mm Bayonet Mount Haze Filter. A new Hasselblad bayonet mount 93mm haze filter for use on NASA Hasselblad cameras. Left over from when NASA discontinued use of Hasselblad cameras after the loss of Columbia. Filter is contained in an original factory box with NASA inventory label on box showing Class I flight. Photocopy of JSC Parts Tag bearing NASA parts #SED33102537-003 is included.

5) Eastman Kodak 70mm 100' Roll of Flight Film. NASA purchased 10 rolls of Eastman Kodak Ektachrome Lumiere 70mm 100' film for flight on STS-64 in July 1994. Film was certified for flight as Class I. Five rolls were likely loaded into 70mm film spools/canisters for flight, and five rolls were left un-flown and remained in bonded storage until released in April 2020. Film was expired in Nov. 1995. Photocopy of JSC Parts Tag is included. Condition is new.
