Fantastic grouping of official NASA astronaut equipment. Includes the following:

1) Two EMU Helmet Fresnel Lenses used by Space Shuttle astronauts during EVAs as a crew option. The +12 diopter Fresnel Lens NASA part #SDD13101499-029 is mounted to the lower front inside of the EMU helmet as an aid to visibility of the Display and Controls Module (DCM) for crew members. They are also used by Cosmonauts inside helmets of Russian Orlan EVA spacesuits. Made of polyvinyl chloride by 3M, they adhere with just water. The diameter is 63.5mm round for the off-the-shelf version. NASA uses a modified lens removing top and bottom rather than the normal fully rounded lens. Labeled as Class IIIW. NASA pink parts bag with inventory, and disposal labels are included as well as NASA technical document. This item was purchased by the consignor as NASA surplus.

2) One Space Shuttle Arm Sizing Insert that served as a component of the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) spacesuit. Sewn on orange label states "Arm Sizing Strip P/N 0103-82401-04[08] S/N 8903". This item was Class I flight hardware as indicated on the JSC Parts Tag. NASA parts bag with JSC "Clean for Service", disposal and parts labels. NASA expected service life tag, and JSC parts tag included. The baseline design EMU used inserts like this that were hand sewn by suit technicians. Made in various widths, the insert was used to adjust the fit of the spacesuit arm length as a means to customize it to individual astronauts. The Arm Sizing Insert was attached, with lacing cord, to the Upper Arm Restraint layer of the suit that carried the structural loads. Insert measures 8" x 3" x 5". NASA acquisition cost $438.00. Condition is very good. There is no flight history for this part. Included are JSC Parts Tag, Usage Tag, Parts Bag, Inventory, "Cleaned for Service", Disposal, and Temperature labels.

3) One Flown STS-59 EMU Leg Sizing Insert, a component of the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) spacesuit. Sewn on orange label states "Leg Sizing Strip P/N 0104-82380-02[03] S/N 3652 Length 3.14". This item was Class I flight hardware as indicated on the JSC Parts Tag. It was flown on Space Shuttle Endeavor STS-59. NASA Parts Bag with Boeing Inventory, disposal, and parts labels. NASA expected service life tag included. The baseline design EMU, known as "Pivoted" used inserts like this were that were hand sewn by suit technicians. Made in various widths, the insert was used to adjust the fit of the spacesuit leg length as a means to customize it to individual astronauts. The Leg Sizing Insert was attached, with lacing cord, to the Leg Segment Restraint layer of the suit that carried the structural loads. Insert measures 9" x 5". Condition is very good. Included are JSC Parts Tag, Usage Tag, Parts Bag, Inventory, "Cleaned for Service", and Disposal labels. A photocopy of disposal record is included.

4) Pair of LCVG Hand/Arm Vent Ducts that serve as a component of the Liquid Cooling Ventilation Garment (LCVG) used with the EMU spacesuit. The ducts ventilate the EMU spacesuit by drawing oxygen and expired carbon dioxide from the suit into the PLSS for purification and recirculation. These Hand/Arm Vent Ducts would be located along each spring inside covered with fabric and long strips of Velcro. Each duct measuring 24" x 1" is identified in ink with PN 0107-81060-13 Lot 8100-75489-1. This pair of Vent Ducts was Class I flight hardware, as indicated on the JSC Inventory Parts label attached to the NASA Parts Bag with JSC "Clean for Service" and parts labels. Condition is probably new.

5) One EMU Spacesuit Multiple Water Connector (MWC) part of the Liquid Cooling Ventilation Garment (LCVG) used with the EMU spacesuit. Sewn on ILC DOVER label inside reads "Protective Cover Multiple Connector" with "NASA Part No. 0100-82019-03, S/N # 014 Mfg. 5/82". An orange flag sewn on bears the phrase "Disconnect for EVA Only" in ink on both sides that has bled possibly due to moisture exposure. NASA Parts Bag with Disposal label indicating this item is an Artifact. Cover measures about 5" x 5" x 1". JSC Parts tags dated 7/1999 is included. Disposal label also present. NASA acquisition cost was $100.00. Condition is very good.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house world-wide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
