Dayan Moshe

Moshe Dayan two TLSs relating to the capture of Arab terrorists "I refuse to reply ... because I think the answers might harm the country's interests"

1.) Typed letter signed "Moshe Dayan", in Hebrew, as Minister of Defense, on official letterhead, 1969, responding to a series of questions from Knesset member Avraham Werdinger (a photocopy of Werdinger's letter is present). He asks of Dayan: "According to items in foreign papers, the terrorist organizations recruit volunteers from various countries around the globe. According to these items foreign citizens are already present in the terrorist bases. I will thank His Honor if he replies:[ 1. Did the security forces capture terrorists whose citizenship is not of a Arabic country? 2. If so - from what countries? 3. Did the interrogation of the terrorists captured reveal they trained together with citizens of other countries? 4. According to our information - Do terrorists from Algiers and Sudan reside in Sounthern Lebanon? Dayan's replies: "In accordance with paragraph 41 of Kenesset regulations I refuse to reply to questions 3-4 in your question 8629, because I think the answers might harm the country's interests.".

2.) Typed letter signed "Moshe Dayan", in Hebrew, as Minister of Defense, on official letterhead, 1969, Dayan reinforces his response to Werdinger. Two (torn) file holes at the right margin, folds. Fine.
