Military Autograph Collection: World War II and More
Archive
A good collection of signed and printed items by twentieth century by military leaders or with military content, offered with four fine content printed proclamations and a superb typescript account of the 1942-43 Battle of Buna-Gona. The condition of 11 items in this group varies from good to very good condition. A nice assemblage!

This collection includes: a typed letter signed of Mathew Ridgway with friendly content; a typed letter signed of W. C. Westmoreland regarding a parachutist's injury; a fine content autograph letter signed of Cordell Hull introducing Lieutenant Basil Heather, a member of the OSS who worked in both the European and Pacific Theaters during World War II, worthy of further research; a World War II-date typed letter signed of John D. Bulkeley sending an autograph; and a World War II-date autograph letter signed of Sotero Cabahug, a Filipino Judge before the Japanese occupation who later was jurist in the post-war Court of Appeals.

This lot also includes a copy of a 5pp. unsigned typed transcript by Colonal A. J. McNab, answering a correspondent's questions about the Buna Campaign, Apr. 18, 1950. In very small part: "…I do not recall any serious trouble that Lieutenant Fryday and Company I got into…There was serious resistance from the Japs…they had to cross the mouth of the Siemi Creek…Colonel Cummings was wounded in the breast…My Battalion was moved to the Giropa Point position…" and much, much more.

WITH: four printed military documents, including a "Proclamation" from the President of the Philippines honoring the leadership of Douglas McArthur in defending Leyte.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
