Description:

Mantle Mickey

Mickey Mantle signed dinner napkin

Textured cream cloth dinner napkin signed by New York Yankee baseball player Mickey Mantle as "Mickey Mantle" in blue pen in the upper left quadrant. Also twice inscribed with Mantle's initials "MM" (in upper and lower left corners of same quadrant). The 18.5" square napkin is in good to very good condition, with some heavy staining. Pre-certified by JSA/DNA.

Mantle signed this dinner napkin and presented it to an unknown fan or possible love interest. Although Mantle had a wife (Merlyn Johnson (1932-2009)) and four sons, he was a notorious womanizer who had many extramarital affairs. Was this autographed napkin a prelude to, or a farewell token of, one such conquest?

Mickey Mantle (1931-1995) served as 1st baseman and center fielder for the New York Yankees between 1951-1968. Mantle was lauded not only for his batting accuracy, but also for his record-breaking batting distances. The slugger was a multiple times MVP, All-Star, World Series champion, batting champion, and home run leader. He was induced into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.

A classic signature from "The Mick"!
