French Postcard Photograph Signed "18 Nov. 1908 / Wilbur Wright." 5.5" x 3.5", No. 1 from the French postcard series L'Aviation en 1908, reproducing the photograph by J. Bouveret of the Wright Flyer on the "Champ d'exp̩riences" (Camp d'Auvours) in Le Mans, France. Signed on the day he set an altitude record of 90 meters and won 1000 francs from the Aero Club de Saitte.


Postcard Photograph Signed "Orville Wright" in a light area of a 4" x 2" blue-tinted printed photograph on a 7" x 5" postcard picturing Orville at Kitty Hawk on December 17, 1903, piloting the Wright Flyer, his brother Wilbur at the right. The 5å¢ International Civil Aeronautics commemorative stamp is affixed at the upper right, postmarked Kitty Hawk, N.C., on the 25th anniversary, December 17, 1928. Also postmarked in New York City two days later. Two pictorial stampings are affixed commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight.

Fabric from the Kitty Hawk Wright Flyer, 1" x .75". Certification of the fabric from Harvey D. Geyer, a close friend, associate, and employee of the Wright Brothers from 1910, who was appointed the technical advisor of the Wright Estate after Orville's death in 1948. His Estate included some of the original coverings of the wings which had been removed when he had prepared the Kitty Hawk Flyer for public exhibition in London in 1928.

Nickel turnbuckle, with eye-bolt screws at each end, 5.25" long, from the World War I-period Wright B Flyers. Spar fitting from the Wright 1905 Flyer. Grease Cup, 1.5" long, used on the Curtiss Jenny and the DeHavilland DH-4 during World War I. Given to Louis P. Christman for his work in restoring the 1905 Wright Flyer, they have descended directly in his family. From The Wright Brothers' Engines and Their Design by Leonard S. Hobbs, published by the Smithsonian Institution Press, City of Washington, 1971: "Louis P. Christman ‰Û_ was responsible for the Smithsonian drawings of [the 1903] engine and also supervised the reconstruction of the 1905 Wright airplane ‰Û_ Christman worked directly with Orville Wright for a period of six weeks and had access to all the records and parts the Wrights had preserved‰Û_."
