Ex. The Forbes Collection. Malcolm Forbes (1919-1990), American owner-publisher of Forbes magazine, and consummate collector,  amassed one of the most substantial and broad collections of such breadth and depth that it filled a half-dozen residences, and sat on three continents. Many of his manuscripts were sold in Multi-million dollar sales By Christie's in the early 2000’s. The Forbes name is considered to be the apex of provenance when attached to an item like the above. We are honored to have been chosen by the family to sell at auction the substantial balance of the collection. Ex. Christie's and accompanied by a copy of the Christie's catalogue lot description.

A proclamation declaring the date of John F. Kennedy's funeral, 25 November 1963, a national day of mourning.

"John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 35th President of the United States, has been taken from us by an act which outrages decent men everywhere," Johnson declares in this solemn proclamation. "He upheld the faith of our fathers, which is freedom for all men. He broadened the frontiers of that faith, and backed it with the energy and the courage which are the mark of the Nation he led. A man of wisdom, strength and peace, he moulded and moved the power of our Nation in the service of a world of growing liberty and order. All who love freedom will mourn his death. As he did not shrink from his responsibilities, but welcomed them … I Lyndon B. Johnson, President of the United States of America, do appoint Monday next, November 25 … to be a national day of mourning …"
