Lyndon B. Johnson TLSs as Senator, Group of Three!
TLS
A good collection of three typed letters signed by Lyndon B. Johnson as Senator, each on Senate letterhead. Please view details below.

Includes:

1. A letter signed "Lyndon", one page, 6 x 7 inches, Washington, December 1, 1958, in which Johnson writes Felton M. Johnston, Secretary of the Senate, addressing him familiarly as "Skeeter." John sends thanks for letters and offers the promise that he will be in touch. File holes at top and a receiving stamp thereon, very good.

2. A letter signed "Lyndon" which we feel out of an abundance of caution, may be secretarial, one page, 6 x 7 inches, Washington, October 27, 1959, in which Johnson writes to Dorothye Scott, secretary to Felton Johnson. He sends thanks for "warm and generous" words and adds "…[I] hope I can justify your confidence…". Fine, with cover.

3. A letter signed "Lyndon", one page, 8 x 10.5 in., Washington, May 24, 1960. Johnson writes Judge Adrian Spears in San Antonio, regretting an invitation due to his responsibilities for the impending National Convention. File holes to top, else fine.

Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973) was an American politician who served as the 36th president of the United States from 1963 to 1969. He had previously served as the 37th vice president from 1961 to 1963 under President John F. Kennedy, and was sworn in shortly after Kennedy's assassination. His presidency is often attributed with America's escalated involvement in the Vietnam War as well as landmark Civil Rights legislation.
