Description:

Johnson Lyndon 1908 - 1973 "No one ever knows everything about politics. There is always something new to be grasped and absorbed ..." Typed Statement Signed "Lyndon B. Johnson" as President, 1 page, 9" x 10.75". On pale green White House stationery. Washington, no date., but probably 1964 or 1968. No salutation or closing. Fine condition.

In full, "The Mock Political Convention offers a timely and valuable introduction to a fuller future participation in national life. No one ever knows everything about politics. There is always something new to be grasped and absorbed. And it is never too early to start. I admire the public spirit that prompts you to take part in this worthwhile activity. You will never regret it -- and the nation will benefit from the experience you gain."

Mock Political Conventions were held in the nation's universities and colleges - sometimes high schools - every spring of presidential election years, so this letter was most likely written in 1964 or 1968.
